Leaders
So
just what are Camp La Salle and Fish La Salle? Officially, Camp and Fish
La Salle are activity-based holiday and recreational experiences set
in a uniquely Lasallian environment for students aged between 13-15 years
old. La Salle Queensland seeks to enable participants to make new friends,
reach their full potential and develop new skills as well as a sense
of responsibility by providing supportive leaders and role models.
General rules and expected behavious or leaders
On each morning of the program, you will be required to attend a brief
information session & de-brief (after breakfast) where the daily timetable
will be fully explained and any extra information added to the daily plan.
Attendance is compulsory for all leaders and should be utilised to announce
any general business, potential problems or matters, which may have arisen
the day before or overnight.
Whilst your time and efforts are greatly appreciated, in order to ensure
that everyone, including students has a fantastic holiday experience some
general rules relating to leaders have been introduced.
The consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances is strictly forbidden,
as are visits to the local drinking establishments. Leaders on Camp La
Salle or Fish La Salle are selected to provide positive role models to
students, and therefore drunkenness will not be tolerated at any stage.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Leader's who attend the program are treated as adults, regardless of
actual age. Therefore there is no stipulated time for Leader's to retire
to bed. However, please remember you are a leader on a La Salle Queensland
program the aim is to provide the students with an energetic & fun-filled
experience and a good night sleep is essential to achieve this. Furthermore,
once the students have retired for the night, any talking between the
Leaders’s should be kept to a low volume in order to not disturb
those students or leaders who are sleeping.
Aggressive, offensive language or behaviour is not tolerated from the
students and therefore in order to maintain a fair and appropriate environment
it will not be tolerated from the leaders.
These rules and requests have been put in place, not to restrict your
behaviour or infringe upon your rights, but rather to make the entire
experience worthwhile and fun for all leaders and students and to promote
a team environment. Obviously any comments, criticisms or information
that you as a leader feel could enhance this manual will be greatly appreciated
and warmly received.
